Cab-O-Sil, a fumed silica product, is used across a wide range of industries for its rheological control, thickening, and anti-settling properties.

It is commonly used to thicken resins into a putty for applications like gap filling and vertical surface work, preventing sagging and run-off.

In coatings, adhesives, and sealants, it provides thixotropy, improves extrusion properties, prevents sagging during curing, and enhances shelf life.

It acts as a flow agent, anti-caking agent, and anti-blocking agent in powder systems, improving powder flow and reducing caking.

In the cosmetics and personal care industry, Cab-O-Sil stabilizes emulsions, improves texture, and acts as a light-diffusing agent.

It is also used as a filler and reinforcing agent in silicone elastomers, rubber products, and composites, increasing hardness, tensile strength, and elongation. 

In the food industry, it serves as an anti-caking agent (E 551) and can help in formulating lower-calorie foods by enhancing lipid distribution.

Additionally, it is used in pharmaceuticals, inks, toners, batteries, and as a desiccant.
Surface-modified grades like CAB-O-SIL TS-720 are particularly effective in polar systems, offering high film build, sag resistance, and stable rheological performance.
