Copper (I) oxide, also called cuprous oxide, Cu₂O, is a red to red-brown crystalline powder supplied in one pound quantities. It is the reduced copper oxide, distinct from the black copper (II) form, and is a p-type semiconductor.

Ceramicists use it as a colorant and flux in glazes, where it gives copper reds under reduction and greens in oxidation. It is also used as a pigment in glass and coatings, as the active component in antifouling marine paints, and as a starting material in copper chemistry and semiconductor research.
