Propylene Glycol (99%) Lab Grade

Propylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, hygroscopic liquid supplied at 99 percent purity, laboratory grade. It is miscible with water and most common organic solvents, and is made from propylene oxide by either a non-catalytic high-temperature route or a catalytic low-temperature process.

It is used as a solvent and carrier for flavorings, color additives and active ingredients, as a humectant in personal care products, and as an excipient in pharmaceutical formulation, where its low toxicity is the reason it is accepted in those settings. Industrial uses include antifreeze and heat transfer fluids, polyester resins, and fog and vapor fluids.
