500ml Aluminum Sulfate Solution

Aluminum sulfate, commonly called alum, is supplied here as a 500 ml reagent-grade solution. It works as a coagulant and flocculant, pulling suspended solids out of suspension, which is the basis of its use in municipal and industrial water treatment.

Other common applications are lowering soil pH for acid-loving plants, sizing and pulp treatment in papermaking, and use as a mordant in textile dyeing, where it fixes dye to fiber. Supplying it in solution removes the dissolving step needed with dry alum and makes dosing into aqueous systems more direct.
