Authentic Iron Gall Ink - Traditional Formula for Archival Writing

Iron gall ink is a traditional writing ink made from tannin extracted from oak galls combined with iron salts, supplied here in a 50 ml bottle to the historical formula. It goes onto the page as a pale line and darkens to a permanent dark blue-black as it oxidizes.

It was the standard document ink in Europe for centuries and remains in use for calligraphy, dip pen writing, drawing and archival work. Iron gall ink bonds into the paper fibers rather than sitting on the surface, which is why the writing resists fading and abrasion.
